APPOINTMENT PREP
Ten to Fourteen Days Before Treatment

No direct sunlight One Week Before Treatment

Stop taking NSAID medicines such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen since they interfere with normal blood clotting. Check medication labels for the active ingredient.

You may take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) as needed for pain not to exceed 3000 mg a day.

Discontinue any irritant type of topical products or treatment products such as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula), scrubs, or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.

No prolonged sun exposure to the area being treated. Sunburned skin can not be treated with Morpheus8.

If you have a history of Herpes breakouts, you will need to start preventive medication three days before your treatment. Please talk to your provider if you have this issue and were not given a prescription for medication.
Day of Treatment

Shower as usual.

Do not apply any lotion, powder, oils, or other products to treatment areas.

Cleanse the area and do not apply make-up if you plan to treat the face/neck area.

If you have long hair, bring a hairband to pull it back.
POST APPOINTMENT
Immediately Post-Procedure
Keep in mind that thousands of tiny holes were just created in your skin. Your skin is very vulnerable to bacteria, UV light, dirt, and other things your skin typically protects you against. It takes 2-3 days for these small holes to close. If purchased, we will apply PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) immediately after your treatment to enhance your results.
The First 48 hours

Wash your face with the Gentle Cleansing Cream twice a day, apply (Healing Ointment or Aquaphor or Neocutis Aftercare. The goal of barrier protection is to protect your skin. The physical barrier will help protect your skin while the tiny holes created by Morpheus8 heal.

Use clean pillowcases and keep your hair and hands away from your face as much as possible.
Day 3-7 Post-Procedure

Continue to use the Gentle Cleansing to cleanse face

Avoid retinol, retinoids, acids (Hyaluronic Acid is ok), Vit C, and other serums. Hyaluronic Acid is a moisturizing product that CAN be used on the skin.

You can begin to apply make-up on day three after your procedure. For example, if you had your procedure on a Wednesday, you could apply make-up Saturday morning. It is recommended that you buy new make-up brushes/sponges or clean your current brushes before you start using them on your skin. For the first week, less is more. Although the tiny holes made by Morpheus8 are closed, the skin is still susceptible to being irritated.

Your best protection moving forward is sunblock. Sun exposure will damage and age your skin faster than you realize. Regardless of your skincare routine, sunblock should be part of your routine. Do not use chemical sunscreens (oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate). The top layers of skin that generally protect you from the sun have been removed by Morpheus8, making you more sensitive to these chemicals.

During your consultation, your practitioner

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS? Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

WHEN CAN I PUT MAKE-UP ON AFTER TREATMENT?
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters.
WHAT KIND OF POST PROCEDURE CARE IS REQUIRED?
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also slow the aging process
